Saturday 26th January – Friday 1st February 2013
Each night on basic.fm from 7pm till midnight
Half Memory is about the excavation of memory and imagination. It revisits the fleeting moment and the uncommemorated experience.
For one week on basic.fm, Half Memory will feature contributions from musicians and sound artists that respond to this theme. The work has a strong link to the people and places of North East England. Many of the contributions have been inspired by, or have re-purposed, photography, audio archives, newspaper cuttings, engineering plans and letters from the collections of Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums.
This broadcast hopes to rearrange and create new meaning from the past.
Half Memory is produced by Tyne And Wear Archives And Museums in association with Tusk Music.
