Half Memory was about the excavation of memory and imagination. It revisited the fleeting moment and the uncommemorated experience.

For one week on basic.fm, Half Memory featured contributions from musicians and sound artists that responded to this theme. The work had a strong link to the people and places of North East England. Many of the contributions were inspired by, or re-purposed, photography, audio archives, newspaper cuttings, engineering plans and letters from the collections of Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums.

The broadcast hoped to rearrange and create new meaning from the past.

Half Memory was produced by Tyne And Wear Archives And Museums in association with Tusk Music.
