On March 11, David Bowie releases THE NEXT DAY, his 24th studio album.
This much anticipated release will be celebrated with four hours of original programmes on basicFm.
Walt Panorama (The Space Library) will broadcast two hours of lounge, MOR and exotica covers of DB, including a whole bunch of intoxicating elevator music.
Hickeysonic (Panic & Carousels) has explored the outer reaches of Bowie, where Philip Glass and Throbbing Gristle cover, remix or reappropriate DB for avant ends.
Michael Clunkie (Vinyl Junkie) will be doing what he does best and finding gorgeous female voices covering Bowie in inimitable style – including Lulu, Isabelle Adjani and Dana Gillespie amongst others.
Finally, basicFm presenter/DJs Sheena Revolta and Mr Drayton will be hosting a vinyl listening session at the Tyneside Cinema’s Record Player – both sides of THE NEXT DAY on lovely shiny plastic.
